Windows XP Service Pack 3 Fix for AMD Processors

With the introduction of Windows XP Service Pack 3, AMD users are in a lot more trouble.Installing the SP3 on an AMD machine especially when updating from Service pack 2 would make it run into an infinite loop at the next boot ending up in a kinda OS crash. The problem would look like...

"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer...

Technical information:

STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, [number1], [number2], [number3])
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

When Physical Address Extensions (PAE) is enabled, you may receive the following error message: STOP 0x000000FC (ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NOEXECUTE_MEMORY)"

Then one would have to reinstall the operating system or the geeky ones can get to alter the registry by getting onto the systems safe mode.
Registry hack method-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\intelppm and set the "Start" value from 1 to 4.

Much better way can be just patching up the system with the below given fix.Just download and install....That will do.....
